ZoneAlarm Finally Gets Windows 8.1, 10 Support, After Leaving Many PCs Unprotected

Thousands ofWindows 8.1computers were left unprotected asZone Alarmwas struggling to release support forWindows 8.1; the update is finally hereMany folks are usingZoneAlarmproducts to protect their Windows 8 device, as CheckPoint has all the security tools you might need – firewall: free and paid, anti-virus: free and paid, internet security and other bundles. But since Microsoft has made available theWindows 8.1update on October 17, manyWindows 8.1computers were left unprotected, as it tookZone Alarmalmost two week to addWindows 8.1support to its products.

Microsoft said that all the apps added by users usingWindows 8.1Preview will have to to be reinstalled after upgrading to the final version ofWindows 8.1. Of course, manyZone Alarmusers have updated toWindows 8.1from the Preview version, reinstalled the app and some of them even got corrupted software in the end, like it wasthe case with McAfee users, according to some posting onZone Alarm‘s forums. For other,ZoneAlarm‘s products were crashing, hanging or just stopped working.

Online users have been reporting similar problems have with Symantec’s Norton Internet Security suite. And this is definitely not Microsoft’s fault as the company gave developers like Check Pointmore than a monthahead to prepare for theWindows 8.1launch.
