Microsoft is holding the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase again in 2022, as shared onXbox Wire. This year’s event is coming on June 12, 2022, with both Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks presenting different reveals. Microsoft has held its summer game shows on a Sunday for the last few years and 2022 won’t be breaking tradition.

No runtime for the show has been shared yet. According to Microsoft, the showcase will feature everything players need to know about the “diverse lineup” of games on the way, from the Xbox first-party division and from “partners around the world.”

At least one game that should absolutely be present isStarfield, the upcoming role-playing science-fiction title from Bethesda Game Studios. First announced at E3 2018, Starfield returned during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase in 2021, with a Nov. 11, 2022 release date attached to the trailer.

Another overwhelmingly likely candidate for a game that’ll be present isRedfall, a vampire hunting co-op game from Arkane Austin that was revealed during the 2021 showcase. Redfall is currently slated to arrive sometime in Summer 2022 and like Starfield, is coming exclusively toXbox Series X,Xbox Series Sand PC, as well as launching day one into Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft held the combined Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase in 2021 to represent the recent acquisition of of ZeniMax Media, emphasizing how both publishers encompassed the Xbox first-party division. It seems like Microsoft will be using that branding for the forseeable future. It’ll be interesting to see how or if this changes in the future, asMicrosoft is currently working to acquire Activision Blizzard, a deal that is slated to close sometime in Microsoft’s fiscal year ending June 2023.
