After years of complaints and jokes, Microsoft finally updated the volume user interface in Windows. Through several versions of Windows 10 and the initial release ofWindows 11, the UI shown when adjusting the volume of a PC with physical buttons looked old and out of place. Microsoft fixed that withWindows 11 Build 22533, which recently shipped to Insiders in the Dev Channel. Our senior editor Zac Bowden checks out the new volume UI and the build’s other changes in his most recent build video.

While not brand new, there is an updated UI for the Tab Switcher on Windows 11 as well. The new ALT+TAB experience reduces the amount of blur shown on the desktop when using the Tab Switcher. Rather than blurring the entire desktop, Windows 11 will just blur a rectangle around the windows you can switch between.
