We are looking into reports that some customers are experiencing difficulty connecting to the Internet. We recommend customers restart their PCs, and if needed, visit [this support page]. To restart, select the Start button from the taskbar, click the Power button and choose Restart (not Shut down).
Many people believe that the culprit for these issues is the latest Windows 10 update,KB3201845. However, users began reporting these bugs before Microsoft rolled out the recent update. For example, this usercomplained about Wi-Fi issues on December 8, one day before Microsoft pushed KB3201845: “I have a new computer and after working perfectly for 2 months it is now telling me I do not have a valid IP configuration“.
Moreover, these annoyingWi-Fi connection issuesare also affectingWindows 7and 8.1 users. However, the latest Windows 7 update was released on November 15. For the time being, there is no clear information as to what exactly is causing these Internet connectivity problems.
Some users suggest that their computers are unable to retrieveIP addressesandDNS serversfrom their routers.
