When Microsoft unveiledWindows 10 Salong with its new Surface Laptop back in May, the company said that its OEM partners would soon releasecheaper Windows 10 S PCs for the education market. Today, the company finally shared more details about these new devices as part of itsgeneral Back to school announcements.
“In the coming months, our partners will introduce many great devices for purchase, pre-installed with Windows 10 S, starting today with theLenovo N23 ($249 USD)andN24 ($279 USD), available worldwide,” theblog postnotes. In addition to these two PCs (apparently based on Lenovo’s pre-existing N23 Chromebook), Microsoft also shared that the following models are coming soon:
Last but not least, schools can already test Windows 10 S on their current guenine Windows 10 Pro PCs for free, and you can find detailed instructionson this page. “This initial release will help us gather valuable feedback to make Windows 10 S work great on a range of devices in schools, so we encourage IT professionals to try it on a variety of devices and let us know what they think,” added Microsoft.
