TheWindows 10 Fitbit appupdated on PC and Mobile today with some improvements to GPS accuracy and stability, design improvements, as well as the usual bug and stability fixes.

While the stability fixes have been long overdue (the menu items and tab thankfully no longer get mixed up) the most notable aspect of this update is the “design improvements” which actually add a splash of Microsoft’s new Fluent Design aesthetic to the app.

This new design is pretty subtle but can be seen on the PC app when pressing the Fitbit device icon in the top-right corner of the app (which places a frosted glass filter over the majority of the app) and onMobilewhen clicking on friends in the Friends tab (which triggers a similar effect but as a transition). This frosted glass effect has appeared on other recently updated apps with Fluent Designsuch as Groove Music and Xbox. It’s unclear if this is official Fluent Design but it’s at least inspired by it.

Fitbit has always been a strong support for Microsoft platforms and that doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. Just earlier today, Fitbit announcednew integration with Microsoft’s Cortana virtual assistantwith more updates apparently planned for the new future.
