The AdDuplex report for January 2018 is out, and it shows that the Windows 10 Fall Creators continues its propagation at a steady pace. According toAdDuplex’s latest datacollected over the day of January 22, 74.3% of Windows 10 PCs are now running the Fall Creators Update (up 20.7% points). Remember that AdDuplex collects data from apps connected to their ad network, so only PCs with at least one of those apps running is counted.

“Fall Creators Update is growing rapidly and you can see the difference in ascend speed compared to the Creators Update,” highlighted AdDuplex. Indeed, it took six months for the Creators Update to be installed on 3 out of 4 Windows 10 PCs, and the Fall Creators Update achieved this in nearly half the time.

Looking closer at the Fall Creators Update propagation by PC manufacturer, AdDuplex’s data shows that Dell, Asus, Acer, Toshiba and more all surpassed Microsoft this month. 74.2% of Microsoft’s Surface devices are already running the latest Windows 10 version, though it’s worth noting that the Surface Laptop and the older Surface Pro 3 are lagging behind. Speaking about the Laptop, AdDuplex said that “It is unclear if there’s some model-specific issue or if this is somehow related to Windows 10 S.”

Two weeks ago, Microsoft announced that theFall Creators Update was now “fully available,”meaning that it’s now being pushed to all compatible devices. “The Fall Creators Update was the fastest Windows 10 release to reach 100M devices, all while achieving higher customer satisfaction ratings compared to prior updates,” the company also said at the time.
