TheRemote Desktop Connectionis a helpful tool in Windows 10 that lets users connect two computers running Windows over the same network or the internet, allowing access to both computer’s programs, files, and network resources.

But, if you have recently upgraded to the Creators Update for Windows 10, you may have noticed a bug withRemote Desktop Connectionthat prevents the tool from connecting online. One user raised the issue on the Microsoft Community page:

Before the Creators Update rolled out, I was able to use Remote Desktop Connection just fine. I update it, and it doesn’t work. I tried looking all over the internet for this, and I cannot find a solution. I got to the point where I can try to connect with a local IP, but it says that someone is already connected, even when I just started up my computer. Any other IP, and nothing happens.

I know this is not a problem with the internet I have because it worked fine before I updated. I updated (I believe it was) on 4/7/17.

The issue remains unsolved on the community page. A quick workaround, however, could be restarting any device that’s involved in the problem. Speaking of which, we do have a dedicated article on how tofix Remote Desktop Connection issues. Check it out and try out the workarounds listed in the article — they may help you fix this bug.

Are you experiencing the same issue with the Remote Desktop Connection tool after upgrading to theCreators Update? Did you manage to fix it? Let us know.
