When the Windows 10 Creators Update began rolling out earlier this Spring, Microsoft warned that the update would reach some devices later than others. The Surface Hub, the popular team collaboration device for Fortune 500 companies, was low on the totem pole having just startedreceiving the spring updateas of today.

But that might be for good reason. The Surface Hub is a different beast altogether with an intense focus on meetings and sharing information rather than a personal device. In its own right, the Surface Hub has received its own brand of features with the Windows 10 Creators Update.

Collaboration with the Surface Hub has gotten easier through the update. It’s been enhanced with better sign-on capabilities to maneuver easily between Office 365 accounts and navigate quickly to meeting essentials. Furthermore, audio and performance tweaks have been improved overall, particularly for conference calls. Skype itself was updated with easier controls and a meeting carousel, making interactive work on the Surface Hub easier in or out of a location.

To top it all off, Microsoft Whiteboard is officially on Surface Hub devices as a private preview. This lets multiple users ink across other devices to seamlessly share their thoughts, ideas, and notes without the need for rendering. Microsoft Whiteboard is planned for a big app update release for Surface Hub in mid-June. Features include digital inking, geometry recognition, table conversion, and more to come, all to other Surface devices later in the year.
