The first reviews of Microsoft’s Xbox One X,including ours, and so far the press seems to agree on one thing: the Xbox One X is the most powerful gaming console you can buy today, and it’s definitely worth purchasing if you already have a 4K TV. If you don’t, you can still benefit from better graphics on a 1080p TV set, as well as faster load times, but you may also want to upgrade if you own a 1440p monitor.

Yesterday, Kevin Gammill from the Xbox Engineering team tweeted that native support for 2560 x 1440 resolution was coming soon (viaThe Verge):

@xbonenl, I was informed by the graphics team today that 1440 resolution support is coming soon and is not yet implemented.

1440p resolution may not be as high as 4K (3840 × 2160), but it’s a popular on high-end PC monitors. Once this resolution will be supported natively on the console, Xbox One X enhanced games with 4K assets will look better on these monitorsthanks to Microsoft’s supersampling technology.

A couple of weeks ago, we learned that Microsoft had teamed up with Samsung tomake the company’s QLED 4K HDR TVs the official Xbox One X partner. Thanks to earlyBlack Friday deals, you can now get up to 45% off on select models with prices starting at $999.
