Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s EVP of Windows and Devices Groupannouncedtoday at IFA 2017 that the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will be released worldwide on October 17. The upcoming release will be the fourth major update to Windows 10, and it will still be focused on creating “a platform that inspires your creativity,” explained Myerson.

The Fall Creators Update will introduce many new features such as OneDrive Files On-Demand and Story Remix, but users can also expect many improvements for Windows Inking, Gaming, Security and Accessibility. Additionally, the major release will open the gates for the Windows Mixed Reality platform, with the first head-mounted displays from partners to be released on October 17, alongside the Fall Creators Update.

“Our mission at Microsoft is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more, one of the ways we’re supporting that mission is by taking this next step in our Windows journey and empowering the creator in all of us with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update,” explained Myerson.
