Just a while ago, Microsoft made the sad announcement that it’s would only support an evenfewer number of Windows 10 Mobile deviceswith its latest Creators Update. The tech-giant also took the necessary steps to temporarily terminate one of the official upgrade paths from Windows Phone 8.1 toWindows 10 Mobile.

Users can easily upgrade from an older version of Windows Phone using theUpgrade Advisor app.Unfortunately, the app was unavailable for a couple of days.

It was still possible to download the application from the Store, but you would only find out that it did not actually allow your device to be upgraded. It is only going to show you the following message: “The Windows 10 upgrade isn’t available for your phone right now. We’re trying to determine if your phone can support Windows 10”. The good news is that users confirm that theUpgrade Advisor appworks again.

However, it’s still unclear what Microsoft is going to do with the app. After all, there are only 13 devices still eligible for the Windows 10 Creators Update, including Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL.

If you want to upgrade your phone to Windows 10 Creators Update, you can also use the Windows Insider Program and you can set it to the Production Ring. But unfortunately, it seems that this option is not going to be around much longer, either: Microsoft keeps cutting the number of devices it’s willing to offer support to for the mobile OS.
