The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon is as light as 14-inch OLED laptops come

Lenovo’s making a big claim with the IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon, stating that it’s “the world’s lightest 14-inch OLED laptop.” Such a remark comes with the following disclaimer: “Based on research conducted internally by Lenovo as of June 17, 2021, of all major PC manufacturers shipping more than one million units worldwide annually.” Whether you doubt the validity of the claim, one thing is for certain: The IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon is undoubtedly a very lightweight OLED laptop, clocking in at 2.37 pounds.
But a 14-inch OLED laptop coming in at under 2.5 lb isn’t the only selling point the IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon is marketing. It’ll also sport up to 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800U series mobile processors and Radeon graphics. Or, alternatively, you can get the laptop with an NVIDIA MX450 if you want one of thebest graphics cardsbut don’t want a wholly AMD-driven machine.
Beyond those elements, you’re also getting up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage, all stuffed into the lightweight, thin IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon. On the software side of things, the laptop’s coming packaged withWindows 11.
The laptop will be available in October of this year, with a starting price of $1,290. The price will adjust based on the configuration you opt for, meaning if you want a version capable of rivaling thebest Windows laptops, you’ll likely have to pay a bit more.
