While Microsoft is currently busytransitioning its Skype messaging service from a peer to peer infrastructure to a cloud-based one, the Skype team hasannouncedtoday the launch of a new Skype Insider program. Just like the company’sWindows InsiderandOffice Insiderprograms, the new initiative will allow Skype enthusiasts to get access to preview releases and provide feedback to improve the messaging app:

You can join the Skype Insider Program right now by signing up online at theSkype Insiders Registration Fromand you’ll be given the choice to indicate the platform you want to sign up for. The Skype team notes that this program doesn’t include the Skype Preview UWP app for Windows 10 devices (Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring can already test preview builds of the messaging app) and that you’ll be able to install preview versions alongside the regular Skype app.
This announcement comes just a day after the Xbox team announced therebranding of the Xbox Preview Program as the Xbox Insider Programand we applaud the company’s naming consistency. Sound off in the comments if you’re looking forward to see what’s next for the popular messaging app.
