Following some testing withSkype Insiders, Skype is doubling today the maximum number of people in a group call from 25 to 50. The popular communication app is catching up with Facebook Messenger, which has been supporting up to 50 people in a call since a couple of years now.

“Every Skype group with up to 50 people now supports calling, whether you’re ringing just your best friend or 45 coworkers,” the Skype teamannouncedtoday. You’ll need to install the latest version of Skype on your devices to enjoy this feature, though Microsoft notes in anFAQthat the maximum number of video streams for group video calls will depend on the platform and device.

The ability to call up to 50 people in Skype is pretty nice, but it’s worth noting that Microsoft also changed how group call notifications work to make them less disruptive. Instead of making all your devices ring, the Skype app will now send you a simple notification asking you to join the group call. “If the notification of starting a call is not enough, you can select individual members to ring, or if your group is less than 25 participants, you can ring the entire group,” the Skype team added.

For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.

Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
