Skype has just added a Food and Drinks section to its Bots directory, which now counts the new SAVEUR bot from the gourmet magazine of the same name. “The SAVEUR bot will message you with delicious recipes every week and provide helpful tips and tricks to help you unleash your inner master chef,” the Skype team explained in ablog posttoday. “Just in time for Thanksgiving and end of the year celebrations, the bot will fuel your culinary curiosity and inspire you with new, seasonal recipes.”

We went hands-on with the new Skype bot and it seems to work as advertised. Despite some excitement last year, messaging bots didn’t exactly change how we use messaging apps, and the tech industry is still figuring out how to make bots more efficient than just using the web or dedicated apps.
