Resident Evil fans can already get excited, as the next release of the game will support cross-saving on the Xbox One and Windows 10. “The Windows Store version can share play data with the Xbox One version,” saidDengekifrom which Capcomconfirmed it to IGN.

Cross-saving is one of the driving features behind Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere system, where games are bought once and playable on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. It is not yet clear if the game will use Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere or use a proprietary method of syncing saves across platforms.

If Capcom decided to release the title using Microsoft’s own method, it would be one of the first third-party titles to take advantage of the system and would likely generate some positive feedback from gamers who use both their console and their PC for entertainment.

It won’t be long before we will know for sure what the plans for the horror game are as the game is due for release on January 24, 2017, which is early next year.
