It wasrumored a couple of months agobut now it has been confirmed. Resident Evil 7 will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title. This means that gamers can buy the video game oneither Xbox OneorWindows 10and gain the other version for free. All content will also carry over between each version.
The confirmation came today in a tweet from Xbox’s Phil Spencer who said, “RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard confirmed for Xbox Play Anywhere – buy once, play on both Xbox One & Windows 10 PC.” You can see his tweet below.

Microsoft began their Xbox Play Anywhere initiative in 2016 and has already released several video games under its banner with Forza Horizon 3, ReCore,Killer Instinct, and Gears of War 4 being some of the bigger titles.Halo Wars 2 will also be an Xbox Play Anywhere game. Resident Evil 7 is due for release onXbox One and Windows 10on January 24th.
