Popular Australian sports video game developer,Big Ant Studios has announced the studio’s next cricket game – Ashes Cricket. Developed in collaboration with Cricket Australia, Ashes Cricket is billed as the ‘most realistic and authentic recreation of the sport ever created’ and will be available on Xbox One and PC (as well as PlayStation 4) in November this year.

The Ashes is a Test cricket series played between England and Australia, hosted in turn by England and Australia at least once every four years. It is one of the most famous and long-standing cricketing contests. The game will feature both Women’s and Men’s Ashes competitions.

While Big Ant has previously launched cricket games like Don Bradman Cricket 2014 and 2017 as well as Big Bash 2016, Ashes Cricket is their first cricket game to be fully licensed from Cricket Australia (and England & Wales Cricket Board).

The game uses the studio’s photogrammetry technology which enables photo-real likenesses of the complete men’s and women’s Australian and English cricket teams to be rendered in-game. There’s also fully licensed stadiums recreated in extensive detail. Players like Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Emma Inglis, and Mackinley Blows were involved with the motion-capture process.

Time and time again players tell us the feature they love most about our cricket games is the deep customisation options. We have produced a true Ashes Cricket game, through and through, but we’ve also made sure that our heritage in sports games remains true.

– Ross Symons, CEO, Big Ant Studios

While the game puts Ashes in the spotlight, players will also be able to create their own players, teams, stadiums, and logos. They’ll be able to create their own competitions and types of matches, from a short five over match, right through to extended, multi-nation Test match tours. There’s also a career mode that allows players to take their own customized junior cricketer all the way to the ultimate dream; captaining their country to Ashes victory.

For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.

Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
