The Xbox team has started to roll out a new Xbox One Preview build to members of the Preview Alpha ring yesterday. The new bits bring screen time limits to restrict how much time child accounts can use the console each day, but there is also a fix for a home screen issue that appeared after signing in with automatic sign-in enabled.

The new OS version is rs_xbox_dev_flight.170206-2328 and you can find the full changelog below:

NEW FEATURE:

You can now enable screen time limits for any child accounts in your family on Xbox One.

To get started…

NOTE: When your child runs out of time, they will be signed out of their profile until a parent grants more time by entering their passkey on the Xbox One, or by configuring screen time settings athttps://account.microsoft.com/family. When the time limit expires, it will not turn off the Xbox One. If you encounter any issues or have feedback, please let us know via Report a problem.

FIXES:

Edited out sign in bug as it was an editorial mistake – not fixed till next week – sorry!

KNOWN ISSUES:

As usual, you can download this update by opening the Xbox Guide and navigating to All Settings > System > Updates. If the Xbox team is satisfied with the feedback, this new preview build may roll out to members of the Preview Beta ring in the coming days.
