Yesterday was a busy day in the way of Windows 10 news, as Dona Sakar and the Windows Insiderteam pushed out build 15002to the computers of Fast Ring users across the world. While the build had many new features on theStart Menu, inWindows Defender,Windows Ink, andinside the Settings menu, we would also like you to know that the latest build introduced new settings options which let you customize the Surface Dial.
According to the Windows Experience blog post, a new screen in the settings menu now appears for those Insiders on build 15002 who would like to customize the default tool set for individual apps. The head of the Windows Insider team explains:
App developers have the option of providing custom tools for the Surface Dial when using it within their app. In addition to this, Windows Insiders with Surface Dials will now be able to customize the default tool set for individual apps starting with this build. Setup the keyboard shortcuts most meaningful for specific apps – like Ctrl + Delete in Word 2016, or CTRL + Tab in Sticky Notes. Head to Settings > Devices > Wheel today to try it out and share your thoughts! We’ve also updated the custom tool creator to now enable you to set keyboard shortcuts that include a number of common symbols.
It is definitely interesting to see more customization options come to Microsoft’s $99 Surface Dial accessory. Let us know what you think of this by dropping us a comment below!
