Microsoft is constantly updating itsSurfacefamily of devices. The tech giant recently surprisedSurfaceusers with the announcement of Core i5 processor models for 15-inch Surface Book 2 andSurface Pro6.

The upcoming Core i5 processor-basedSurfacedevices will have a memory of 16GB.

Previously,Surfaceusers were forced to buy any of these models with a Core i7 processor to get a 16GB memory. Notably,Surface Pro6 Core i5 offers only 8GB of RAM.

However, the 15-inch variant ofSurface Book2 does not offer 8GB memory.

However, if you are one of those who are looking to purchase a newSurfacei5 device with more memory, you should go for a 15-inchSurface Book2 orSurfacePro 6.

Some reports suggest that Microsoft plans to offer both variants at the following prices.

If you compare the price of 16GBSurface Pro6 with 512GB SSD and Core i7, you can save around 27% on the new model.

Likewise, the 15-inchSurface Book2 with a Core i7 processor and 16GB RAM/256GB SSD is available at $2,499 (20% discounted price).

However, no one can confirm when the new models will be available. Both these models were initially in the product listing of a Canadian websiteBest Buy.

But they were quickly removed from the site. Furthermore, there are some reports that a US retailer opened pre-orders forSurface Book2 with Core i5 processor and 16GB RAM. These reports prove that the company is currently working on both models.

Well, Microsoft has not announced any release date yet. However, the newSurface Book2 andSurface Pro6 devices are expected to hit the stores in June.

It seems that the users from theUK and other regions may have to wait for a few more months to get their hands on the devices.
