The Game Awards 2021is the talk of the gaming community today, as the event reveals a plethora of announcements, updates, and trailers from game studios and publishers alongside its usual awards. Dramatic Labs, a new fully-independent studio formed by Telltale Games veterans, made an appearance at The Game Awards on Thursday to announce their first game. Star Trek: Resurgence is a new adventure set in the iconic sci-fi universe, and players won’t have to wait long to experience it.

Star Trek: Resurgence will feel familiar to Telltale fans, as it’s a third-person narrative adventure game where players make choices in their actions and dialogue to direct where the story goes. In Resurgence, players will take control of two characters, First Officer Jara Rydek and Engineering Crewperson Carter Diaz, aboard the vessel USS Resolute. Two alien civilizations are poised to go to war, and it’s up to players (alongside new and returning Star Trek characters) to uncover secrets and navigate the tumultuous situation.

Like past Telltale games, Star Trek: Resurgence places extra value in players' choices, with the narrative and story being directly influenced by the path players decide to take. Dramatic Labs' new game isn’t that far away, with an announced release window of Spring 2022. A lot of questions remain unanswered about Star Trek: Resurgence, but fans of narrative-driven titles may find it to be one of thebest Xbox gameswhen it arrives onXbox Series X,Xbox Series S, Xbox One,PlayStation 5, PS4, and PC through the Epic Games Store.
