Microsoft this week opened the Microsoft Technology Centre (MTC) in the heart ofSydney, Australia. This new high-tech location is designed to assist businesses and government employees in digitising their workflow and services by adopting the latest in Microsoft Cloud and AI technology.
According to the officialnews release, Microsoft Australia has already formed a partnership with the NSW Government where it will focus on “building a data-centric approach to good government, important cyber, platform and capability development initiatives” as well as DXC Technology, a major Australian IT services provider.
The partnership with DXC Technology will involve the company and Microsoft Australia working together to move both of their “leading enterprise and public sector clients in Australia to the Microsoft Azure cloud.”
Microsoft Australia’s managing director, Steven Worrall, said of the arrangement, “This is a significant and important investment by Microsoft in the Australian market. The Microsoft Technology Centre will help our customers accelerate their digital journeys by bringing together the right resources – people and technology – in one location to demonstrate what can be achieved in their organisation and then to work with them to bring that to life. We are delighted that both the NSW Government and DXC Technology and their clients are trailblazers that will be among the first to benefit from our investment in the MTC and Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to Australia.”
A brief video tour of the Sydney Microsoft Technology Centre has been released revealing the modern design of the location, its various social spaces, the showcase of Microsoft hardware and services (like HoloLens), and its incorporation of functional technology concepts such as an AI-powered juice bar. “Microsoft Azure is a trusted, secure and high-performance cloud with an already comprehensive and growing array of services,” DXC Technology’s managing director, Seelan Nayagam, enthused. “Together we can provide solutions that our government and commercial clients can confidently deploy today while being prepared for changing market conditions or expectations. The combination of our deep understanding and experience and Microsoft’s cloud and technical expertise is going to be a game changer for existing and new clients to realize and expand their digital transformation ambitions.”
