What you need to know
The Microsoft 365 roadmap is always updating itself with new, exciting features, and one more just got added to the docket, this time for PowerPoint. Soon, PowerPoint for Windows will allow organizations to inject their very own fonts into the mix.
You can find the feature in question over at theMicrosoft 365 roadmapby searching for feature ID 90893. There, you’ll find one tagged “PowerPoint: Organization Fonts in PowerPoint for Windows” with the following description: “This feature will allow organizations to add their custom fonts into PowerPoint.”
It’s slated for March 2022 general availability, though as is the case with dates on the roadmap, the feature’s predicted release window is just an estimate, not a guarantee. So don’t go placing any bets as to whether Microsoft will come through in accordance with its own anticipated timeline. For example, look at theSurface Duo. That thingstill hasn’t receiveda major Android OS update people have been expecting since the middle of 2021 and that Microsoft later said would happen by the end of 2021.
With that said, font feature updates in PowerPoint don’t seem like the most unreasonable thing to expect timely delivery on, so if your organization has a custom font waiting in the wings, ready to hit the slides, stay frosty. March 2022 is right around the corner, so long as your definition of a corner is “a period of two or so months.”
