Interestingly enough, as Microsoft makesefforts to combine the underlying and visual elements of its premier email clientacross web and desktop begin to surface, the Windows team seems to be moving in a different direction with the current Mail and Calendar apps for Windows 10.

Instead of adding the ribbon alterations for the Mail and Calendar app, the Windows team is doubling down on its Fluent Design to touch up the emailing and scheduling experiences for desktop users.

With the Fall Creators Update behind them, the Windows team is testing out some new Fluent Design inspirations for the Mail and Calendar app with a few lucky Skip Ahead Release Insider testers.Zac Bowden over at Windows Centralwas able to grab a few more screenshots of the Mail and Calendar updates in action.

With Microsoft’s Groove app being the poster child for Fluent Design implementation, now being shuttered in favor of Spotify integration, it’s nice to see the Windows team working on bringing its other apps up to par.
