This is the beginning of The End for Minecraft players on Windows 10 and mobile! For those that have played the original Minecraft Java version on PC, we’ve been facing the well known Ender Dragon at The End dimension for years now. Finally, Windows 10 Beta and Pocket Edition are breaking through that barrier to match up with its predecessor’s official release.
In the1.0 Ender Update, players will be able to work their way towards what many consider the ultimate showdown in Minecraft. The End dimension will be accessible and the fight against the Ender Dragon boss will begin. Explore the outer islands of The End and discover the secrets of the End Cities with Shulker mobs, Purpur Blocks, and Chorus Plants. You might even find the non-craftable Elytra glider from an End ship, if you survive.
Furthermore, the update will be lifting the restriction of builds to the Java’s impressive 256 block height. Previously, Pocket Edition and Windows 10 were limited to only half that space.
The update, as always, will be free and will roll out across Windows 10 UWP, Pocket Edition, and Gear VR. Even theApple TV Editionwill be the official 1.0 release right out of the gate. This is an exciting time for Minecraft players that have ogled the Java version for its depth and content. Version 1.0 is planned to be available by the end of the year, just in time for the holidays.
Until then, players can already participate in the beta onAndroidso dive in and face the Ender Dragon, if you dare.
