Back in May, Microsoft took the wraps off theXbox Adaptive Controller, a new accessory to make gaming more inclusive for those with disabilities. We’ve since seenthe company highlight the accessible packagingfor the controller, and today, it has been announced that the Xbox Adaptive Controller isofficially available for purchase.
You can find the Xbox Adaptive Controller for $99.99 at both theMicrosoft StoreandGameStop Online. The controller feature 19 3.5 mm jacks for plugging external switches, buttons, mounts, and joysticks. The most prominent feature, though, is its two giant programmable buttons, and symbols along the top side to help gamers with disabilities find the right ports.
Other features on the controller include USB ports on the right and left sides for thumbsticks, and USB C and DC power ports. It is those features and design which makes the controller special, as explained by Gabi Michel, Xbox Adaptive Controller Program Manager.

We iterated on and refined it through close partnership with gamers with limited mobility and fan feedback, as well as guidance and creativity from accessibility experts, advocates and partners…”
