Microsoft’s Surfacelineup isn’t done with battery problems.

Surface Laptop 2 and Surface Pro 4 are plagued by battery drain issues

After some battery drain problems affecting theSurface Pro5 and 6 devices, now it seems thatSurfaceLaptop 2 andSurface Pro4 are plagued by the samebug.

Here’s how some affected users are describing the problem onMicrosoft’s community forum:

Lately, after I shutdown (full shutdown, not sleep or hibernate) my fully chargedSurfaceLaptop 2 at night, I turn it on in the morning and find that the battery has lost around 25% power overnight! What’s going on and how can I fix this?

I am having the same issue.  Was plugged in at the office @ 100%.  Drove home which was about 25 minutes and powered it up and was @ 75%.SurfaceLaptop 2.  This started after the last firmware update.

The cause for this battery drainbugseems to be the latest firmware updates.

If you’re having battery drain problems on Surface Pro 6, check out this guide and solve them in no time.

Microsoft might release a new update soon

Other users reached to Microsoft on Twitter. The tech giant responded to many, recommending troubleshooting steps and trying to fix the problem, with no success:

@MicrosoftHelpsVery odd behaviour from mySurfaceLaptop 2 lately. As much as 28% battery loss overnight while completely shutdown. Over 20% decline while shutdown for 19 minutes?! What’s going on??pic.twitter.com/WdqsjUIgOl

As we already mentioned, theSurface Pro4 is also having battery drain issues. The cause isn’t sure yet, but it’s likely to be the latest cumulative updates:

3 hours surfing and watching YouTube on my 4 year old Pixel 2#Chromebookand I have 6+ hours left at right around 77%.

My 2 yr old@surfacePro 4 can’t even get past 2 hours these days doing the same thing… This last creative update made it a battery suck.
