As Microsoft sticks to its twice-yearly feature releases for Windows 10, it will launchRedstone 3later this year in September. We have already seen a fewWindows 10 Redstone 3 buildsafter the release ofWindows 10 Creators Update.

Microsoft’s twice-per-year feature release schedule

Microsoft has announced plans to align the feature releases of Office and Windows in order to ease the experience for enterprise users. The releases are scheduled for March and September and the next essential for Windows 10 has a September date.

All Microsoft’s releases are going to receive support for 18 months, and the fact the system is in place for both Windows and Office will be very useful for everyone, not only for enterprise customers.

Most users gladly welcome the fact thatMicrosofthas committed to this twice-per-year feature release schedule.

Predictability & simplicity

Bernardo Caldas, general manager for Windows Commercial Marketing, said on the Windows blog that Microsoft’s customers are assured that “Windows 10 is the most secure version ever released” and they can now see the great economic impact of their investments. He says that “a key part of that economic impact is staying current with Windows 10 with feature and security updates. This approach has made large-scale, costly wipe-and-replace Windows deployments every few years a thing of the past.”

Microsoft’s customers desire more predictability and simplicity from the company’s services in order to enjoy even more. Caldas confirmed that Microsoft is “aligning the servicing models for Windows 10, Office 365 Plus and System Configuration Manager for our customers, particularly those with Secure Productive Enterprise”.

Even if an exact date isn’t known, it’s a pretty sure thing that Redstone 3 will be launched this fall in September.
