If you’re following Microsoft’s projects, you might know that the company has been developing an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) under the nameVisual Studio15. Fully namedMicrosoft Visual Studio 2017, the service was the focus of multiple iterations as Microsoft tested it over the recent months

New build available

A new update for the IDE has been now released, including multiple noteworthy improvements and modifications. There is a highly noticeable gap between the first iteration and the most recent update. One of the areas of focus for this update was how the IDE handles development that takes place across multiple platforms, specifically in the mobile spectrum.

Those that have kept up with the service’s progress might notice that certain elements are no longer present. Microsoft explains that elements that don’t cut it for the final release build will ultimately get cut off the feature list. Such is the case for Python Development and Data Science. Users will not be seeing these features if Microsoft is to keep removed files removed.

Another interesting change pertaining to this category is the removal offoreign language translations. These can be acquired separately as an additional download but won’t be included in the base package.

More changes underway

Although it is still a work in progress, users that check out the current build of Visual Studio 2017 are encouraged to voice their opinions and provide feedback. This will help the company better optimize the final product and mold into so that it may reflect the needs of its user base.

Microsoft also posted a change log for the important modifications made to the current build, and it seems that they have touched on aspects such as Team Explorer experience improvement, addressing issues that occur during installation or touching on the .NET Core and ASP.NET Core workloads.
