With E3 2019 now just a couple of days away, the Xbox team is getting ready to “go big” at the annual trade show whereMicrosoft plans to have its biggest presence ever. Of course, what everyone will be looking at is the Xbox press briefing on June 9, and Xbox head Phil Spencer teased us about what to expect yesterday.
According to the Xbox exec, Microsoft will showcase 14 upcoming Xbox Game Studios titles during the event, including “more first party games than we’ve ever had in the show.”
Just finishing our final E3 rehearsal here with the team in Redmond. Feel really good about the briefing. Lots to show. We have 14 Xbox Game Studios games in the show this year, more first party games than we’ve ever had in the show. Fun times.#XboxE3

Gears 5andHalo: Infiniteare among the new first-party games that will undoubtedly make an appearance, but we may also see therumored Fable 4 gamethat Forza Horizon 4 developer is rumoured to be working on. Microsoft also acquired several new studios since last year, and we also don’t know yet whatthe company’s brand new studio named The Initiativeis currently working on.
Xbox Game Studios also acts as a publisher for some high-profile third party games. You may remember Microsoft’s timed-exclusivity deals on Rise of the Tomb Raider, Dead Rising 4, or PUBG in recent years, though it remains to be seen if Microsoft is willing to pursue this strategy. Otherwise, the much-anticipated Ori and the Will of the Wisps will also be published by Xbox Game Studios this year, and we should finally learn its release date on Xbox One and Windows at E3.
In addition to all these new Xbox Game Studios titles, Microsoft will share more details about its new Xbox Game Pass for PC offering that was announced yesterday. After Sony shared thefirst hardware details about the PlayStation 5, we also expect Microsoft toannounce its next-gen “Scarlett” consolesat E3.
Microsoft’s E3 press briefing will kick off at 1PM PST on June 9, and theXbox Mixer channelwill be the only place where you can watch it in 4K. Even better, Microsoft will once againoffer some “MixPot” digital rewardsto Xbox fans who watch the event on Mixer.
