Microsoft Company Store drops support for older browsers in September

If you access the Microsoft Company Store’s website right now, you’ll see a note saying that after a planned security update older browsers including Internet Explorer 10, won’t be able to access the store.

Microsoft Company Store ends support for older browsers

Starting with September 1 at 11 PM EST, to still be able to access the company store from a modern browser that will support the upcomingsecurity upgrade. If you won’t update your browser, or if you don’t use a newer version, you won’t be able to access the online store anymore.

The announcement doesn’t come from the Redmond giant but Microsoft Company Store’s hosting provider eCompanyStore.

The announcement also notes that the purpose of this security update is to increase theprotection for online shoppersand their personal information. Upgrading to the latest browser version will result in making sure that your personal data will receive protection by the most recent standards wherever the TLS 1.2 protocol is enabled. The high security standard remains even if shoppers browse and shop other websites.

In case you weren’t familiar with it, the Microsoft Company Store is a dedicated online outlet which tends to all the needs of the company’s alumni and employees by offering them the opportunity to get merch at cut prices. In the Store, you can get various products including accessories, apparel, stationery and so on. The Store is not limited to Microsoft’s staff only, as anyone can purchase products from there.
