Microsoft and OpenClassrooms team up to prepare students for AI jobs

Microsoft is partnering with OpenClassrooms to train Students and prepare them Jobs relating to artificial intelligence. The Redmond giant notes that the partnership will benefit both students by providing them better access to education, as well as employers which will have greater access to highly talented candidates.

According to itsblog post, the demand for development of artificial intelligence is higher than the number of candidates available, so much so that as many as 30% of AI and data skills job openings could be left unfilled by 2022. Microsoft, of course, has been a big investor of AI as a late, so such a partnership could definitely serve to be beneficial especially given that the tech giant currently has themost positions open in the AI departmentof any other tech company.

“As AI is changing the way we work and the nature of jobs, we have a responsibility to ensure graduates are prepared for the workplace of tomorrow,” says Jean-Philippe Courtois, Executive Vice President and President, Global Sales, Marketing and Operations at Microsoft. “We are excited to partner with OpenClassrooms to help equip people with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive in the digital economy.”

Microsoft is confident that those who complete the program from OpenClassrooms will receive a job within six months of graduation—otherwise, a full reembursment will be issued. Additionally, graduates will also receive a masters-level diploma accredited in Europe though OpenClassrooms, which is also working to make U.S.- and U.K.-based accreditation possible further down the road.
