Microsoft and 21ViaNet extend cloud services partnership in China

Microsoft today announcedthey have agreed with the leading Chinese data center services provider, 21Vianet, to extend their cloud services partnership. This agreement means Chinese customers can continue to experience Microsoft’s world-class public cloud services and location operations expertise offered with 21Vianet’s local footprint.

To line up with the extension, Microsoft shared that Microsoft Azure and Office 365 operated by 21Vianet have seen three-digit growth in four consecutive years in China. Microsoft claims this is a “successful method for a legal and compliant operation of international cloud services in China.”

In 2013, Microsoft became the first cloud provider to bring their tech to China. Since then partners such as Haier, Lenovo, Huawei, and Xiaomi have come on board with Microsoft’s services and cloud solutions operated by 21Vianet. In fact, Azure and Office 365 have since won 10 trusted cloud certifications, which make 21Vianet the most trusted cloud service provider in China. Microsoft will now triple their capacity with 21Vianet, hoping to meet the needs of Chinese customers and empower more multinational companies.
