Lenovo’s new G24qe-20 and G27qe-20 have the right specs and price for casual gamers

Lenovo’s G-series collection of gaming monitors just got bigger with the announcement of the new G24qe-20 and G27qe-20 at CES 2022. These two monitors are intended by Lenovo to accommodate more casual gamers who don’t want to spend a mint on theabsolute best PC gaming monitorsbut still need some good specs to make games look crisp.
The 24-inch G24qe-20 has a 2560x1440 (QHD) resolution, which translates to a respectable 123 pixels per inch (PPI). The 16:9 aspect ratio is still ideal for gaming, and bezel is thin around the top and sides for a modern look. The IPS panel delivers 99% sRGB and 90% DCI-P3 reproduction, with a 12-bit LUT for wide color. It can hit up to 300 nits brightness, and it has an anti-glare finish. TÜV low blue light certification makes it even easier on eyes.
As for performance specs, the monitor can hit a 110Hz refresh rate when overclocked, 100Hz otherwise. It has a 1ms (MPRT) response time, and AMD FreeSync compatibility for further reduction of screen tearing. Ports include HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, and a 3.5mm audio jack. There’s a Kensington lock slot, and the display is VESA mountable. Unfortunately, there’s only a tilt function when it comes to ergonomics.
The G27qe-20 is larger at 27-inches, but its 1440p resolution translates to a slightly lower PPI. This is still the preferred size and resolution for many gamers, and the 110Hz (OC) refresh rate, 1ms response time, and AMD FreeSync support make everything look great. You can connect with HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, and 3.5mm audio.
Like its smaller sibling, the G27 has 99% sRGB reproduction and a 12-bit LUT. No word on DCI-P3 color reproduction. Its brightness is a bit higher at 350 nits, and it has an anti-glare finish. The stand has tilt and lift ergonomics to better work with the larger display, and VESA mounting compatibility means you can get it up off your desk. The G27 is also TÜV low blue light certified, and both monitors are Eyesafe certified.
Both the G24qe-20 and the G27qe-20 are expected March 2022, starting at $260 for former and $300 for the latter.
