The Windows 10 April 2018 Update just got its firstPatch Tuesdayupdate. If you’re running this OS version, you candownload KB4103721via Windows Update or you can simply install the stand-alone update package from Microsoft’s Update Catalog.

Update KB4103721 fixes a series of severe issues affecting Windows 10 version 1803, including Chrome freezes and Remote Desktop connection problems. Unfortunately, this patch also brings quite a few bugs of its own.

KB4103721 reported issues

1. Computers won’t boot up

This is perhaps the most common issue affecting Windows 10 April Update users. Manycomplainedtheir computers failed to start after installing KB4103721.

This update has some serious issues, specifically. Do NOT install this update after updating to Windows 10 version 1803. It will prevent your computer from booting up. I am stuck on the spinning circle for a long time.

2. Black screen issues

Other users managed to boot up their computers (well, sort of) but can’t use them. The devices remainstuck on a black screenand the only solution to fix this problem is to simply use a restore point.

The update is bricking my computer. After the update (KB4103721) download and installs, after restarting my computer will hang on a black screen and do nothing. The only way to fix it is to restore my PC to a previous restore point, where the PC will boot up normally again.
