Microsoft recently releasedWindows 10build 18885 to Fast Ring Insiders. This release takes theWindows 10May 2019Updatebuild toversion 18362.86.
Microsoft came up with the idea tomerge the Skip Ahead and Fast Rings. However, users immediately started reporting were are unable toupgrade to 20H1. The bug forced Microsoft to block theupdatefor everyone who skipped build 18875.
The Redmond giant recently fixed all these upgrade issues by releasingKB4497093. Thisupdateaddressed different issues including a bug that was restricting users from upgrading their systems.

KB4497093 improvements and fixes
Upgrade issues fixed
Some users previously experienced various issues while upgrading toWindows 1020H1. Thankfully, Microsoft noticed that issue and fix the bug with KB4497093’s release.
UWP VPN plugin bugs
KB4497093 fixed another issue affecting UWP VPN plugin apps. The respective apps failed to function properly.
Japanese IME and date/time bug fix
Theupdatecame with some improvements for Japanese users.Windows 10users can now install KB4497093 to fix Japanese IME and date and time issues on their systems.
Windows Update error 0x80242016 fixed
The recent release addressed error 0x80242016 which restricted users from updating to newWindows 10builds.
KB4497093 bugs
KB4497093 also brings a few issues of its own. The patch seems to be a bit buggy compared to the recent cumulativeupdates. ManyWindows 10Insiders reported experiencingGreen Screen of Death(GSOD) errors after starting the upgrade process.
Moreover, other users reported getting “This PC can’t be upgraded toWindows 10” alerts as well.
