What you need to know
343 Industries has announced in ablog postthat during the in-game Halo Infinite HCS Spotlight event, players will be able to complete a special set of double XP challenges that will make progressing through theHalo Infinite Battle Passsignificantly faster. These challenges will be focused on playing well in the Ranked Arena playlist, encouraging players to get involved with the competitive side of theHalo Infinite multiplayerexperience.
The HCS Spotlight event runs from Dec. 14 to Dec. 20, and is themed after the various professional esports teams competing in the first major Halo Infinite esports event, HCS Raleigh. Players can support their favorite team by purchasing their skins in Halo Infinite’s Shop, as a portion of the proceeds will go to the organizations. Additionally, players will also have an opportunity to earn Halo Infinite Twitch Drop cosmetics by watching the competition when it begins on Dec. 17 (keep an eye on theHCS Twitter accountfor more information).
Overall, it’s great to see all the excitement for Halo Infinite esports, and it’s also nice that the developers are giving players an opportunity to speed up their progression. Whether or not Halo Infinite esports will succeed in the long term remains to be seen, but we’re hopeful that Halo will take back its place as one of the most popular shooters for competitive play.
