Last Fall, 343 Industries announced anexciting update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the anthology released on the Xbox One back in 2014. Not only will the collection be enhanced for the Xbox One X, but the team will also update the core game to fix bugs and remaining matchmaking issues that continue to affect the game.
In addition to graphic enhancements for the Xbox One X, the teamrevealedyesterday that it’s currently working on an “Intelligent Delivery feature” to allow players to prioritize their MCC download. Additionally, work is being done to improve the game’s networking features, including a new “continuous matchmaking” system that will automatically put players into next game sessions once a match is over.
A public flighting program for Xbox Insiders is still planned for later this year, though the team didn’t share an ETA yesterday. “The moral here is that the team is going to take the time needed to do this right. The project overall is quality driven, not schedule driven,” the developer explained.
343 Industries also took the time to answer some burning questions from Halo fans yesterday, such as an eventual Windows 10 release. “Currently our priority is updating and improving MCC for Xbox and there’s still plenty of work to be done on that front. While we have no official plans to announce at this time, we’ve heard you loud and clear,” the team explained.
Since Halo 5: Guardians was one of the biggest launch titles for Microsoft’s Xbox Games Pass, many Halo fans are probably wondering when the anthology will be added to the catalog. “We have nothing to announce today but it’s something we’re definitely thinking about,” the developer said.
