Following quickly in the footsteps of yesterday’s news whenairline Delta announced it is moving its flight crew to iPhone’s and iPad’s, away from Microsoft Surface and Windows phone, now General Electric, the 13th largest company in the US, is moving 330,000 employees away from Windows (viaApple’s Newsroom).
General Electric will allow employees to use Mac’s if they wish to do so, but will standardise its mobility on iPhone’s and iPad’s, showing that Microsoft’s retreat in the mobile field is hurting it elsewhere. Apple and General Electric, under a new partnership, will build a number of standardised internal apps, as well as apps for GE’s customers. It is hoped that with Apple’s connected ecosystem that spans desktop and mobile, employees will find it far easier to make use of the offerings available to them, as well as reduce the burden on their IT help desk.
In a further blow to Microsoft, that shows consumer-side also affects enterprise and vice versa, General Electric will actively promote Mac as a preferred option to all of its 330,000 employees.

For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.
Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
