From Novak Djokovic’s travails to the brief return of Rafael Nadal, 2024 has served up a sensational series of curveballs in tennis. Will the theme continue at Roland Garros, or will what tends to be the most coherent of tennis' slams restore a sense of normality? Here’s where to watch French Open live streams online forFREE– from anywhere.
None of the likeliest names in the men’s draw are inspiring much confidence. Djokovic is so out of sorts he parted ways with Goran Ivanisevic and is yet to win a title in 2024, Carlos Alcaraz’s clay season has been heavily disrupted by anarminjury, and Nadal had barely played in two years before his first-round exit.
Lucky for us, there are players primed to fill the void. Jannik Sinner won his first slam in January, Casper Ruud has made two French Open finals, and even Stefanos Tsitsipas picked up a clay title at the Monte Carlo Masters.
Having won three of the past four French Opens, Iga Swiatek on clay is the closest thing to a foregone conclusion in tennis right now. Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff have shown promise on the dust, but not consistently so, while injuries have again cost Karolina Muchova. The women’s draw is ripe for an underdog tale in the vein of Emma Raducanu or Marketa Vondrousova – will it be Mirra Andreeva who delivers it?

French Open news
The big news coming in to today was Novak Djokovic’s withdrawal from the competition ahead of his quarter-final meeting with Casper Ruud. The clash was set to be a rematch of last years final which saw the defending champion beat the Norwegian to take the crown. However, Djokivic’s withdrawal sees Rudd automatically progress to the semi-final without even having to lace up his shoes.
Rudd will be watching this evening’s Men’s Quater Final between Alexander Zverev or Alex de Minaur closely, as he’ll meet the winner in the next round. Zverev will be favorite, but De Minaur is already the first Aussie to get this far in to the competition in 20 years, so it would be prudent not to rule him out completely.
