While most of the big “Remembrance” bosses inElden Ringcan be found on the game’s main story path, a few of them are hidden far from it. One such boss is Mohg, Lord of Blood, a challenging endgame fight located in an area you may have missed completely. His possession of a Great Rune made him worth taking out in the past, but now doing so is one of the major requirements foraccessing Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Put simply, if you don’t beat both Mohg andStarscourge Radahn, you won’t be able to experience the universally acclaimed expansion.
Mohg is tough, and has a particularly devastating attack that will burn through your healing resources if you don’t have the tool needed to counter it. In this guide, though, I’ll show you where you can find him, where you can find that tool, and how to take Mohg down so you can head into theShadow of the Erdtree DLC.
Elden Ring: Mohg location
Mohg, Lord of Blood can be found in an easy-to-miss underground area called Mohgwyn Palace. Though it can’t be reached physically through normal means, there are two ways you can teleport to it:
Once you arrive, activate the Site of Grace near where you spawned so you can teleport to and from Mohgwyn Palace freely. Then, travel to the western part of the zone and follow the stairs and pathways up until you reach Mohgwyn Palace itself, where Mohg is. Note that there are some deadly enemies to deal with along the way, including Sanguine Nobles.

Elden Ring: Mohg Phase 2
In addition to all of his attacks from Phase 1, Mohg gains the ability to fly, permanently buffs his trident with bloodflame, and uses a handful of new moves during Phase 2. Here’s how to complete Phase 2 and finish him off.
As long as you carefully avoid each of Mohg’s attacks and get hits of your own in between each of his melee combos, you’ll eventually take him down and emerge from the battle victorious. Note that if you’re planning to get started with the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC right away after beating him, activate the Site of Grace that appears and then fast travel to it to reload the area. This will make Needle Knight Leda, one of the expansion’s main characters, appear, and talking with her will allow you to begin the DLC.
