Diablo 2: Resurrected has crossed 5 million copies sold, having grown steadily since it first launched, with Blizzard Entertainment sharing a new milestone for the game while getting ready for the game’s upcoming Ladder season.

Blizzard Entertainment shared via a press release on Friday thatDiablo 2: Resurrectedhas crossed 5 million paid players since the game originally launched on Sep. 23, 2021. When Diablo 2: Resurrected first launched, the game faced numerous server and connection issues, something Blizzard Entertainment has been working to address over the last few months.

Blizzard recently released Patch 2.4, which contained numerous balance passes to make different builds more viable. TheLadder season for Diablo 2: Resurrected, which is bringing ranked play, is finally launching on April 28, 2022.

Diablo 2: Resurrected was co-developed by Blizzard Entertainment and the now-defunct Vicarious Visions. Vicarious Visions was moved under Blizzard Entertainment and recently finished integration,being renamed Blizzard Albany.

Blizzard Entertainment, as part of Activision Blizzard, is currently in the process of being acquired by Microsoft for Xbox. The deal, which is slated to close sometime before June 2023, is worth almost $69 billion.

Diablo 2: Resurrected includes the original game and the Lord of Destruction expansion pack, with all-new improvements and better graphical quality. There are some server problems right now though.
