As you already know, Microsoft has confirmed that there will be no further development on Windows 10 Mobile and the platform is dead. However, there are still some highly-skilled developers who are also Windows Phone fans that are not giving up so easily. As noted by a report on Softpedia,@Hikari_Calyxhas posted some pretty convincing evidence on Twitter ofWindows 10 on ARMon full display on a Lumia prototype.

The Lumia prototype in question appears to be the “Nokia Hapanero,” an unreleased version of theLumia 950that Microsoft presented atBuild 2015. Interestingly enough,@Hikari_Calyxwas the oneresponsible for the leaked photos of the Nokia Hapanero device.  Judging by the clips on Twitter, if this is in fact Windows 10 on ARM and all features will be useable on Lumia devices, such as the Lumia 950 andLumia 950 XL, this could be great news for Windows Phone fans.

@Hikari_Calyx reassures us “It’s neither remote desktop nor playing video on this phone, I promise.”

While there are some die-hard Windows Phone fans holding out for a possible Surface Phone on the horizon, this might be their only hope. The more likely scenario is Microsoft will releasean “Andromeda” devicewithWindows Polarisor focus onProgressive Web Apps (PWA)instead.
