Dauntless is a “free-to-play, co-op action RPG,” testing the waters with its launch today in cross-platform play. Unbeknownst to most, Dauntless has been in development for the past four years. For the uninitiated,Xbox Wire offers ten strategies for gamers to keep in mindwhen playing Dauntless for the first time onXbox One.

Last week,Eurogamer compared Dauntless to be in the same vein as Monster Hunterand it seems to be a fair assessment. Here is the console announce trailer for Dauntless on Xbox One and PS4.

It will be interesting to see how Dauntless fares in cross-platform play. AsMicrosoft said in its holiday commercial last year, “when everyone plays, we all win.” Personally, I hope to see Microsoft and Sony work on making more games (past, present, and future) available for cross-platform play.
